Sexiest Game Characters: Male

Cloud_Strife

This post is for the ladies. This is just my opinion, but I think that too often are we bombarded with news about how hot the women are in many of today’s games. I know they are trying to reach out to men by putting something pretty in amongst all the gore and violence, but isn’t it only fair if we as girls get to have something nice to look at while we play too?

I have spent quite a while trying to decide who are the hottest male game characters being offered, and not just blatantly going for the over masculine macho type. Basically, I have tried to pick who I would like most to become a real person and fulfil all my fantasies, like making me a sandwich or doing some laundry. Here are my top 3:

Socom 4 delayed till 2011

socom41

Are you staring at the headline in disbelief? We are sad to say that Socom 4 will not be arriving this year, and has been pushed back to early 2011. Were you look forward to playing Socom 4 this year? During our hands-on time with Socom 4 at E3, this title seemed to be well on track for release this year.

Jeremy Dunham, Senior Community Manager at Zipper Interactive writes, “While we’re certainly aware that you’ve been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don’t want to take any shortcuts. Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we’re going to use our extra time to do just that.”

A little extra time never hurts, and it’s a shame Socom: Confrontation didn’t get some extra time as well.

EU-Store-Banner

It’s Wednesday and time for the EU PlayStation Store update.

Mike Kebby writes, “We have two additions to the PSone roster on the store; Pong and Rayman 2: The Great Escape. I know it’s been quite a wait to get Rayman 2 onto the store, and we’re very pleased to say that it’s now available, so grab your copy and help Rayman defend his world against the pirate invasion! As for Pong, you know what to expect and it needs no further explanation really, other than this version (originally released in 1999) comes with 3D graphics and power-ups.”

As always, the full list can be viewed after the break. Don’t forget to let us know what you think of this update.

Rock Band: Who should get the stand-alone treatment?

Rock Band

The Rock Band series has taken us on the journey of the careers of legendary band The Beatles to the modern metamorphosis of Green Day. The music game genre is forever growing and evolving meaning that whether you love them or hate them band-specific games are here to stay.

After playing and actually quite enjoying Rock Band: Green Day apart from a few minor qualms, I started to ponder who would be next to get their own title? I have no idea but I’d like to take a minute to explain who I’d like to see get their own title and why.

New-Red-Dead-Redemption-Screens-Are-Armed-And-Western

You can read our Review of Red Dead Redemption but I’d say, trust me, the game is awesome, and now that you can get Red Dead Redemption for $42.99 with free shipping you’ve got no reason not to land in the Wild West and start telling people there’s a new sheriff in town. This game is selling new cheaper than most outlets are selling it used but these Deals of the Day tend to disappear like so many banditos so hurry up pardners! (OK, no more lame attempts at Old West coolness, we promise…) Read more…

inFAMOUS 2: Changing Again?

infamous2

According to IGN, our beloved protagonist Cole McGrath will be under-going another character transformation. At the moment details are sparse, however two new character models look to be the front-runners. Right now, we are unable to get our hands on this art, but I assure you someone will leak them onto the internet in the coming hours. It’s just the way things work.

Despite Cole having more cosmetic changes than Pamela Anderson, inFAMOUS 2 remains one of our most highly anticipated titles of 2011. Another change like this unfortunately raises more questions than answers, and I’m sure in the coming months Sucker Punch will answer them. Maybe that Cole was your evil and some-what twin brother, or maybe a slight anomaly in the fabric of time. Who knows?  To be honest this all seems rather ridiculous, and a decision like this should have been made in pre-production. We also have some additional details and a new trailer after the break.

First Look: echocrome ii

echochrome_banner

To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of puzzle games and frankly didn’t give the original echochrome the time it deserved. Based on my brief time with echochrome it was unique, but seemed that it was missing a certain element. A sequel to echocrome, titled echochrome ii,  has been quietly unveiled and I wanted to share some interesting details and video.

Kumi Yuasa, a producer at SCEA was kind enough to share some details regarding echochrome ii, via the PlayStation Blog.

Rumor: Resistance 3 Information Leak?

resistance-3

At this year’s  E3 some of the biggest surprises were the titles not announced. Resistance 3 is still one of the top-tier exclusive titles missing in action.

eStarland, an online retailer, has updated their listing of Resistance 3 with the following description: “Continue the fight against the Chimera invasion in Resistance 3, as the battle moves to New York City and humanity makes its final stand.”

The description does sound like it has merit, however their proposed release date seems way off-base. eStarland has Resistance 3 listed for release in March 24, 2011. With Killzone 3 releasing in February of 2011 it’s highly unlikely that Resistance 3 will be released in March. If Uncharted 3 doesn’t make a Fall 2011 release, Resistance 3 would fit comfortably in that spot. Otherwise it’s far more likely we will see Resistance 3 released sometime during the Summer of 2011.

Are you excited for Resistance 3? What do you think of the online listing? Let us know what you think in the comment section.
